Lauren Carey Kevin is a highly versatile pianist and performer based in Sydney. With extensive professional experience in solo and collaborative music across Australia, New Zealand and the UK, she combines technical skill with heartfelt artistry across classical and contemporary genres.

Lauren graduated with First Class Honours from the piano performance programme at the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music, where she studied with Olga Kharitonova and Igor Machlak. A Licentiate of Trinity College London in Piano Performance (Distinction) and the holder of a Diploma of the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music, she is the recipient of the Una Bourne Scholarship and the Rosemary Kenny Prize, as well as the Piano Plus Performance Award and the Senior Scholarship for Piano Performance.

Commencing piano lessons at age 5, Lauren’s first public performance was at 8 years old. She went on to perform Debussy’s Clair de Lune in the concert Fauré into the 20th Century, and was selected to perform a Mozart concerto with the NZSO Chamber Orchestra in the Michael Monaghan Young Musicians Concert, conducted by Peter Walls. Extending her playing to contemporary genres, Lauren performed as soloist at venues including Premiere House (residence of the New Zealand Prime Minister), Dransfield House and Wallaceville House, alongside performances at City Gallery Wellington and for An Evening with the Company with Melbourne City Ballet.

Lauren is a highly skilled pianist, a talented singer and a dedicated Music Director. It is always a joy to sing with her at the piano - she's a wonderfully giving and supportive accompanist and it has been a pleasure to work with her.

Her actor-musician credits as vocalist/pianist include the lead role of Cera in DinoRock, Stella in Imagine Nation Cabaret at Melbourne’s Butterfly Club, and the short-form cabaret pieces More to the Story and The Mezzo Mixtape at the New Zealand Fringe Festival. Lauren’s solo show in development The Bubble Bursters has seen two work in progress performances in London.

A beautiful and generous work. Lauren’s skills as a musician, writer and actor shine in concert, creating a relatable and mesmerising experience.
