I’m Lauren Carey Kevin, a professional pianist based in Sydney. I teach people of all ages to become confident pianists who can understand music on their own — with the competency to express themselves freely.

Whether you’re new to playing the piano or seeking to fill in gaps from years ago, our focus will be on building real skills in a warm and encouraging environment.

With 15 + years of experience, I readily adapt to your personality and goals. My aim for every student is that you develop a relationship with music that is genuinely yours and lasts for life!

Instrument and Materials

  • You’ll need a regular piano (in good condition) or a fully weighted keyboard at home for practice.

  • Purchase of some music books will be required. We’ll discuss this together.

  • For online lessons, you’ll need a laptop or tablet and a reliable internet connection.


Lesson Pricing

First Lesson
All students begin with a one-off session, after which we can discuss ongoing lessons.

  • 45-minute first lesson:
    $100


Ongoing Lessons
Regular students take lessons weekly, with 40 lessons per calendar year.

  • 45-minute lessons:
    $100 / lesson, billed monthly

  • 60-minute lessons:
    $120 / lesson, billed monthly


Casual Lessons
Offered to adult students when there is availability in the schedule.

  • Casual 60-minute lesson:
    $135

All prices are in Australian dollars.

What To Expect

First Lesson: We’ll assess where you're at using music you’re already familiar with — or introduce you to the piano if you’re a complete beginner! — and talk about what lessons would look like moving forward.

Practice: Outside of our lessons, consistent practice is important. Whether you’re new to piano or have been playing for a long time, we’ll work together to build or improve the gentle disciplines that will help you succeed. All you need is the willingness to progress!

Music: We'll include the music you love in our lessons wherever possible - from classical music to pop songs, musical theatre, film scores and more. I often create arrangements for my students so that they can play their favourite music at a safe and achievable level.
